I read some of Karen Pryor’s blog today and saw this article on clicker training crocodiles at Bronx zoo. How awesome to be able to build a relationship with such an animal.

Clicker training to me isn’t just about teaching my dog’s to do something, it’s about building our relationship together. It gives me the opportunity to learn about each of them as individuals – their likes and dislikes, their general characters, their sense of humour or mischievousness or the way they think through problems. It allows me to have a relationship with them that is founded on mutual understanding and respect, because clicker training gives you the chance to glimpse into the depths of another animal’s mind – powerful indeed.
